AERO WT from aerycs

Aero WT

Road bike / Triathlon

ASTM category 1

The name of the rim says it all: the rim has an aero-optimised, bulbous shape that ensures top values in the wind tunnel. The test results of the Aero WT rim speak for themselves: TOUR test winner in 2019 and ROAD BIKE price/performance winner in 2020. In the last aerotesting with aerotune in the open field, the CdA values of the Aero WT rims were impressive, especially in competition with well-known wheel manufacturers. In the production of the Aero WT, the carbon plates are laid next to each other and not woven. By avoiding the overlaps, material and thus weight can be saved. Conventional brake flanks coated with basalt tend to cause problematic wear, depending on the riding style. The flank of the Aero WT rim has a micro-lasered surface and therefore does not need a coating. This makes this rim particularly durable and ensures consistently reliable braking performance. The high-temperature resins used ensure the rims' dimensional stability and safety even when exposed to high temperatures.

Superlight MiG from aerycs

Performance MiG

Road bike / Triathlon

ASTM category 1

Frizzbee from aerycs

Frizzbee

Road bike / Triathlon

ASTM category 1

The inside of the disc wheel is foamed with Rohacell PMI. The outer layer is made of UD carbon fabric, where the carbon plates are placed next to each other instead of overlapping. This reduces the overall weight of the wheel and increases tensile strength and torsional stiffness. Despite the tubeless-ready capability, which requires significantly more material in the construction, the weight of our Frizzbee disc is impressive: at only 1,270 g, our disc wheel competes with the best of its kind in terms of weight.

Aluspeed from aerycs

Aluspeed

Road bike / Triathlon

ASTM category 1

For the production of our Aluspeed rims, we use Dynamal aluminium, which is much more robust than the aluminium-magnesium-silicon alloys (AlMgSiMn) usually used. In addition, the 10-fold hardened Dynamal material is more durable and scores points in the stiffness/weight ratio. To save weight, the joint on our Aluspeed rims is glued instead of welded. The rim has a tubeless ready rim base and is black anodised.

Mudflow MiG

Gravel / Cyclocross

ASTM category 2

The Mudflow MiG rims are developed and manufactured in close cooperation with our partner Munich Composites and assembled at our premises in Ellerau using selected "Made in Germany" components. During the construction of the rims, the carbon plates are interwoven with each other, which results in significantly fewer predetermined breaking points in the rim than with conventional methods. Even under enormous braking heat, the Mudflow MiG rim is extremely stable, as it has a very high thermal resistance due to its construction with special resin. An additional built-in fleece ensures that the wheels remain stable in the event of a pressure increase, such as during downhill runs or jumps.

GCX Terra from aerycs

GCX Terra

Gravel / Cyclocross

ASTM category 2

The GCX Terra rims are made of Toray T700 carbon and have reinforced rim flanges and rim bases to protect the tube from impacts. The radial stiffness of our GCX Terra wheels is approximately 10% lower than our road wheels. This improves the damping behaviour of the rim and the bumps on the track are better absorbed. The reinforced sidewalls offer you increased lateral stiffness so that you have maximum stability and high riding comfort even with an aggressive riding style. Thanks to an innovative, automated spoke hole drilling in the rim, the spoke has a tear-out torque of 570 kg, which pays off especially in very uneven terrain.

Alutrek from aerycs

Alutrek

Gravel / Cyclocross

ASTM category 2

The Alutrek rim is made of Dynamal aluminium, which is significantly more robust than the aluminium-magnesium-silicon alloys (AlMgSiMn) usually used. In addition, the 10-fold hardened Dynamal material is characterised by an optimal stiffness/weight ratio. The rim has a machined, almost wear-free surface, which is characterised by durability and robustness. The Alutrek rim is tubeless-ready, but can also be ridden with a tyre and tube.

Explore

Gravel / Cyclocross

ASTM category 2

Cross Country / All Mountain from aerycs

Cross Country / All Mountain

MTB

ASTM category 4

The Cross Country and All Mountain rim is made of Toray T800H carbon and features reinforced side walls. This provides increased lateral stiffness and can offer you maximum stability and high riding comfort even when riding very bitingly. Thanks to the low weight of the rim, you have less mass to accelerate with these wheels. Thanks to an innovative, automated spoke hole in the rim, the spoke has a tear-out torque of 570 kg, which pays off especially in very uneven terrain.

ASTM Category Definitions

ASTM category 1

Rims of this type may only be used with bicycles that are moved exclusively on tarred or paved roads and paths, with the wheels in permanent contact with the ground.

ASTM category 2

Rims of this type may also be used on gravel and unpaved roads with moderate gradients in addition to the area of use from category 1. In this category, the tyres may briefly lose contact with the ground in rougher terrain. Jumps (drops) from a height of max. 15cm may occur.

ASTM category 4

Rims of this type can, in addition to the conditions of use mentioned in categories 1 and 2, also be used on rough trails, in rough terrain and on difficult routes that require good riding technique. Jumps and drops can occur here up to a maximum height of 61cm.
